:)Hey Buddy just passing by to see how ur daughter is doing?
Today is a day of small miracles. Today Brenna went in for the 3rd Lumbar Punture. Upto now, she hasn't shown any real sign of being there. After she got out of the proceedure, she was awake. I looked to her and asked for a smile, she turned to me and gave me the sweetest biggest smile anyone could ask for. She was also able to answer yes or no questions by nodding her head. And I know she knew what I was saying due to the appropraited nods. Are you 5 nodded no, are you 7? Nodded no, are you 9? Nodded YES. She also spoke stating she had to do a #1. :D. I know this isn't full recovery yet, but it is a miracle no doubt! Thank you all for your kind words and heart felt prayers. We have a long road still but we are starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. THANK YOU ALL!

Cg this is the best news ! Hopefully with the fluid that the doctor withdrew from the lumbar puncture to test they will be able to find out what caused this so that they can prevent it from happening again. Most definetely a step forward :)
Sending more prayers out to you and Brenna.
Things are back to up and down again :(
Cgmorgan1, I too have 9 year old daughter and seeing her in the hospital as well was heartbreaking. I am so sorry for what you guys are going through and will certainly keep you guys and Brenna in my prayers. Thank you for keeping everyone updated even though we may not personally "know" you, my heart goes out to you and yours. I pray that beautiful little angel gets better quickly!
Sadly english is not my mothertongue- therefore Im unable to express my consternation... I have a daughter (in the meantime she is nearly grown-up), but I remember every second of fear and anxiety in the past years... I understand your feeling as a mother- helpless confronted with this situation... We all doesnt know anything abaout the "masterplan" God has for each other, but Ill hope an pray, that this trial (I dont know the exactly term for this kind of examinations of life) will be only temporary... Im so helpless to say the right things, to give a word of comfort...
Best wishes to you and your daughter, given genuine from my heart... I dont know you, but I feel you feelings cause Im a loving father- love makes vulnerable...
Sorry for mixing up your gender... First Ive thought that you are the mother of brenna... (cause of your avatar) Many apologies...!!!!!
I have a 12 yrs old daughter and a 11 yrs old boy and just reading what u have wrote and shown us by pics, i cannotnimagine my self liing the situation u and ur family r going thru. Keep up the Faith and we will keep on praying for her soon recovery.all the best
I have an update. They took Brenna off of valcomisyn (heavy antibiotic). She now is more at rest. She was able to finally swallow a little water from a spoon for the first time in 3-4 days :) . She also they stood her up and was able to take 2 steps with their help. Afterwards they asked if anyone had any questions, Brenna said "I DO". I asked her what her question was, she said "When can I go home?". We all take the daily things for granted, but when they are taken away is when we really appreciate these small MIRACLES!

Update....the doctors still have not been able to find anything. They had her on high dose steroids, which are now being tappered off. They start the 3rd treatment of antibodies (IVIG) today. We see glimps' of the old Brenna from time to time. Hopefully things will get better soon

Thank you for the update. I too have been watching this thread for news about Brenna. Glad to hear that she is getting better and will continue to pray for you and your family and of course for Brenna's full recovery. God is good all the time and I am sure He will answer our prayers.
Thank you so much for the updates. I know we will all continue to pray that she gets better. Hopefully if they are giving IVIg, then maybe they are on track to finding out what's going on. I can't imagaine how frustrating this is for you, I know you just want your little sweetheart home and healthy!
The Neurologist now have a theory, they think that it maybe the aftermath from strep throat moved into Rhuematic Fever

Thx again for the updates Cg. Hopefully the neuros are stepping in the right direction to narrow down if that is indeed the cause/issue that's going on. :) continuing to keep all of you guys in my thoughts & prayers:)
Thank you for your work.
Most importantly, I hope your daughter gets better and recovers. It's truly sad to hear of this, particularly because I have a little girl her age. Hang in there and stay positive!
Update.....they found micoplasma in her spinal fluid, which can cause the uncontrollable movements and such. They are continuing the IVIG and also are giving her Sippro for the infection. They also found Strep... She also developed a rash on her face and down her trunk now. She will talk a little bit after she gets calodapam or something that makes her sedated.
