Searching for the Right 9800 theme

New guy here who's looking for some help finding the right theme for my 9800.
I've tried a few but nothing is just right. Some have great wallpapers, others have great icons.

1. I'm looking for a theme that will maintain the os6 style of sliding left to right and up and down.
2. It would also allow for adding user defined categories beyond the standard "All / Favorites / Media / Downloads / Frequent". I would like to add my own categories like 'Personal / Engineering / Business / Navigation", etc.
3. It would also allow for adding folders into these new categories.
4. It would allow for Apps to be moved into the new categories.
5. It would allow for rearranging and locking down the folder location in any category.
6. It would allow for changing the icon for any App or Folder to something I choose, maybe from a custom icon set or downloaded jpeg.

Any suggestions?

Most of what you are looking for is OS driven as opposed to coming from a theme.

I feel like I'm lost on this then. I'm trying to keep an open mind and find ways to use the current os6 but I don't understand the practicality of not having a folder/file system.
Compared to a PC, it's like 'everything' resides on the Desktop (the Torch 'All' screen) and there are no User folders. I can create all the folders I want then put whatever App or file in that folder but it always stays on the Desktop screen. That Desktop screen gets filled up real fast and I have to start scanning the screen to find what I'm in need of at a specific moment. We've all seen those computers with the Desktop screens that are filled up icons.
Ok, I can tag some things as Favorites. If I create a 'navigation' folder on the 'All' (desktop) screen and I put multiple GPS Apps in that folder I cannot move that folder to anywhere else, not even Favorites. I can tag all of the individual GPS Apps as Favorites though. But then......the Favorites screen starts to get filled up much like the Desktop screen.

I'm coming from a Treo 680 which has the folder/file system that I'm talking about.
To change the theme I loaded the below App, which the Palm community calls a launcher. It's basically a theme/color/icon set all in one. The Treo 680 OS doesn't allow for swiping between screens. This App (launcher) gives you that capability. TouchLauncher : Palm Apps : Handango

Look at the top of each screenshot. You'll see the word 'All'. This is the same as the Torch 'All' Screen. If you touch that word, you get a drop down menu that shows you the other screen 'categories' that you can select or you can choose to edit/add categories. If you swipe the screen to the side it will take you to the next screen of icons within the same 'All' category. If you swipe the All screen up or down it will take you to the next 'category' screen. You'll see that the last screenshot shows 'Utilities'.

I hear ya. It may be that the default OS6.0 theme is not right for you. The problem with making custom themes is that there is only so much a developer can change when using the default theme as a base. If you didn't care as much about the sliding up/down/left/right, you could try a different theme - but even then they won't have the folder within a folder within a folder, etc., that you are looking for.

Keep in mind you can hide icons that you don't use; that will help reduce some clutter.

With universal search built into OS 6.0, there's not as much need for the strict folder format you are looking for.

I built a theme that's offered in this forum for free; it's called QuickTorch. You won't find any sliding panes, but it offers 19 user-defined apps/folders on the homescreen. You could put quite a few folders on the home screen. Those folder icons are hidden unless you want them to be shown - so it's wallpaper friendly. Universal search is an icon in the banner, so it's easily accesible. With my own personal use of the theme, I set my applications folder to one of the text-only buttons. You could have 3 different folders as text-only buttons. Just a thought.

Something else to consider is the app QuickLaunch. That app is menu-based and let's you create sub-folders to the nth degree. It's one of my favorite apps.
