I got a new Blackberry Torch 9800... Have downloaded a bunch of JAD files ( since I can't find any other one's ) but the desktop manager is not reading them or recognizing them.

Can anyone help please....? What am I doing wrong...? should I be transferring them a different way...?

    Thank you

Unless is specifially states that the file is for "Desktop Install" you must download the files using your BlackBerry Browser.

A jad file extension means it is meant for an OTA download. You'll see the term OTA used a lot relating to downloading app & themes.

OTA stands for Over The Air. This means the file is meant to be downloaded directly by your device.
There are 2 main ways to accomplish this:
    1. From your BB's Browser navigate to the page with the OTA link; or
    2. Email yourself the link from your PC to your BB.

There are some 3rd-party desktop apps that actually can load a jad file directly, but I think you should avoid getting to that. Download these OTA the way they were meant to be.
