is this possible? I kinda like the stock theme but I want to always have my weather icon on the screen. With multiple tabs, or with the tabs hidden, it isnt possible.

Well, I guess I could put it in the same place on every tab, so it would always be there, but that still wouldnt solve the issue if I have the tabs fully hidden.

    Any ideas?

BerryWeather has the ability to add weather information to your wallpaper. This would make it so you would see weather information no matter which tab you're on.

They have offered the background for a while. However, you need to update. My version is currently 2.5.53.

It's under "Settings" --> "Homescreen Wallpaper" --> (edit what you want to show)

or if you just want an icon that shows it use weatherbug...my icon shows the current temp and hi/low for the day and sits along with all of the other app icons.

OP is wanting the temperature information to display no matter which tab they are on. Using the icon will not allow this since it will move if you change the tab.

Depending on where you DL'ed BW from you should be able to upgrade free. I've never had to pay for an upgrade.

With that said, since you're using 1.x, they may charge an upgrade when going from 1.x to 2.x (I'm not sure).

I dl'ed it through app world originally on my 8320. Im pretty sure they want me to pay for the newer one. My upgrade from 1.5-1.6 was free.

    Thanks for the help though.

Have you tried? I used to have it on my 8350i, and I don't recall paying for it again... although I've had my Torch for a while and may have forgotten paying for it.

Nothing compares to BerryWeather. On the newer versions, you can opt to have the temperature show in the notification area. Not sure if you can on the older version like the one you have.

I think the icon is nicer and less cartoonish not to mention "free" send the maker your pin and you can make it part of the homescreen too. I've used berry weather and I like weather plus much better.

Sorry but I had to jump on this.

I've also personally used both and (IMO) BerryWeather is better, hands down. The amount of user customization is ridiculous. But you have to have at least version 2.0 for most of the new features and they DO charge an upgrade fee when updating from version 1.x to 2.x. But I believe it's a discounted price. Check Bellshare - Premium BlackBerry Apps for more info.

I say BerryWeather because of the features alone. First there is the Home Screen Wallpaper option - You choose your wallpaper and then adjust setting for how much info is displayed on your HS as well as where it shows on your HS. Next is the "cartoonish" icons - you are able to download new icon sets from within the app. Bellshare has setup and mobile site where most of the icon sets are stored and you can download as many different ones as you like and can easily switch them from within the app. Also, Themes In Motion has tons of icon sets for BerryWeather as well! Another feature is a notification icon - don't want to use the HS Wallpaper option and instead would prefer a tiny thermometer in your notifications? Easy, just gotta check that option within BerryWeather and it'll display the temp on most EVERY screen on your BB!

So there's a little taste of what BerryWeather has to offer! Personally, I recommend updating to the newer version, I did! Plus, there are more and more apps (and themes) that are offering BerryWeather (and BerryWeather ONLY) integration!

You can usually get BW at a discounted price because it get promoted so much!

And besides, read the reviews on anything and everything you are interested in! There is a reason BerryWeather has been voted (more than once) Best BlackBerry Weather Application...PERIOD!

Weather Plus IS a decent weather app and may be the application for you, I dunno, I'm not you. It may suit YOUR needs and at the end of the day, that's what's important! It's your BlackBerry, right?

I can relate with you on the not wanting to pay for the app twice because I went through the same thing at one point! But to be honest with you, the version of BW you're using now compared to the version you'd be upgrading to, well truthfully, there is no comparison. It'd truly be like buying a new application! You're missing out on many NEW & UPDATED features!

    o

Don't you have to have the paid version to get the other options on the homescreen (thermometer etc.). If available in the free version, how do you get it to show there? I know with Weather Plus (free) you can get it all for free. Also how can you change the weather icons?
