    That, yes, but also remember that AT&T partnered with RIM to develop the phone. Not Rogers, not Bell, not Telus.

    It doesn't do ATT any good to limit the 9800 in Canada, but it does make a difference to exclude the ONLY other GSM competitor in your market and to ATT, that's worth paying for.

    Technically T-Mobile will require a slightly different model because they run on different frequencies.

    Yep, but I wonder if any of the Canadian carriers use the same freqs as T-Mo or if the only ones getting it are the same as ATT freqs...

    I know that Telus, Bell and Rogers all use frequencies currently supported by the 9800. Not sure about TMO

    Telus, Rogers and Bell all share the same network frequencies as ATT. As for T-Mobile, they share the same bands as WIND Mobile and Mobilicity (I believe).

    WIND, Mobilicity, and another uses the same frequencies as T-Mobile, but Bell, Telus, Rogers, Sasktel, MTS, and their respective subsidiaries use the same a AT&T.
