The Blackberry software on my pc indicated an update for my Torch,set about doing the update and then my handset went back to no settings,lost all contacts,pics.,etc.There was a message for a short time showing where the files were in the pc,but I didn't get it.I restored back to my last backup which was April-not the end of the world but I would like to get it back to current state.I would appreciate any input as to where the files might be.

wasn't there a message to back up your device prior to updating? Did not not see a message? the phone just appeared wiped after it reinitialized? strange...

Same issue happened to me recently. Always backup before allowing any upgrade. We both made the same newbie mistake.

Today my solution is to ignore those messages and run Loader to put on a new OS. Backup is automatic and bothing is lost that way.

Good luck finding and restoring your data. Never did find mine.

Um DM uses the loader. DM just has a pretty MMI for users...

DM usually makes a backup before loading an OS. Typically the backup file is in "My Documents" and called loaderbackup(date).ipd.
