I have done searching and here and the web as a whole and found nothing conclusive on this.

It seems some people still have access to BIS services whilst tehering a device and others do not.

I am one of the people who do not. This is a great limitation.

Does anyone know if there are any setting you can change anywhere to keep the phone accessing BIS services whilst it says 'Modem Mode Enabled'.

    Thanks for your help.

If i recall, you need to change a setting in the engineering screen. It is called "IP Modem Solo Mode" and it has to be set "disabled".

Multi-WAF Engineering Screens -> Tunnel Engineering Screen -> IP Modem Solo Mode: DISABLED

    My new best friend.

I had to Google how to find the engineering screen and now the job is done
this makes me happy as I can now take advantage of the Playbook bridged mode and get a decent browser speed via tethering at the same time

Any idea as to why it would have reverted back to IP Modem Solo Mode - Enabled.

It could have happened yesterday but I only tried sending a bbm today whilst tethering.

    Edit*

It reverts back to enabled when I reboot the phone. how do you save the setting?

Yes seems to be the case with this one which sucks. Just set it to a longer time frame and saved the website with the Keygen so I can access it offline.

Source OTA download works fine, its still a direct link to the jad for mobile downloading, except that its not hosted in that page, but on the developer's page.

First link probably got reported by the original owner and removed by hostgator.
