I just got 3g activated and my service provider claims a max speed of 21 mbps (huge pinch of salt).
I connected to the network over Bluetooth and the max speed I'm getting is 0.79Mbps.
I'm using a Mac, could that be a problem or is this just c*appy network issue?
    Any ideas?

regardless of 21mbps max speed by your carrier, the Torch itself doesn't support that speed. I'm not 100% sure but I think it supports upto either 3 or 7.2 mbps.

Your 0.79Mbps could be due to many things such as, signal strength, network bandwidth, usb port used etc.

Max and real are 2 very different things. BT has limitations as well.

How did you measure your speed?

Update: I put my SIM card in my wife's HTC Legend. Made that into a Hotspot and connected and I got 3.84Mbps speed on my laptop.
IS there some additional settings required for BB, or is the Bluetooth connection restricting speed?

    EDIT #2:
Just connected via USB cable through DM.
Got a speed of 1.81 Mbps.
    Bluetooth always gives exactly 0.746Mbps.
I'm leaning towards bluetooth restricting speed.
    Anyone agrees with that?
