Use desktop manager to back up the pearl. Then restore the data on the Torch. I would not recommend the device switch wizard as it can transfer settings to the Torch that are not compatible and could cause problems. Only restore stuff like messages, calendars, and contacts. Do not restore any settings.
Make sure to load the most current DM before backup of old device then DSW. It will take a while so don't disconnect. Transfer data, contacts and calendars. Re-install compatible apps and re-register those needing it.
If it were me, I would sync organizer data (calendar, contacts, memopad etc) to a PC off the pearl and then sync to your new Torch. After that rebuild the Torch with all your apps from scratch. Some apps will need to be converted to TS versions and those that have keys will need to be changed to your new PIN as well.
If you use the DM DSW, you may encounter problems as I and many others did.
