So my wife has had a Razr for quite some time. At first she wanted an Iphone and then she went to the AT&T Store here recently and played with the Iphone, the Torch, and the Captivate. Of the 3 she really liked the Torch and decided that is the phone she wants next. Obviously coming from a Razr to a Torch there are going to be things to get used to. What things should she be on the lookout for in regards of getting used to the use of the phone. Also obviously every phone out there has pros and cons, I am curious from Torch owners, what are some of the negatives of the phone.

Negatives, coming from a razr? Actually the first thing will be the learning curve, it will be daunting at first! Once you learn the system there is no going back! We are here to help!

Also to those that have a Torch and also have a Ford vehicle with Sync, how well does the phone integrate with Sync?

    1) Do NOT leave the store without thoroughly testing the device.
    2) Look for obvious workmanship issues.
    3) Make sure seams are flush and the buttons are not at odd angles or coming off.
    4) Make sure that the slider works. There should be very, very minute movement when closed to almost none at all.
    5) Make sure to test the volume button, the right-side convenience key and lock and mute buttons at the top.
    6) Look for light leak around the keyboard and buttons near the trackpad.
    7) Test the trackpad. Make sure that it is solid.
    8) Test the keyboard. It should also feel solide.
    9) Make sure that there is no camera rattle.
    10) Power on and off the device making sure that there are no issues.

    11) Make sure that the battery cover slides on and off smoothly with no difficulty.
    12) Test the browser. Pinch to zoom. Tap to size. Check out the tabbed browsing.
    13) Try loading heavy webpages like crackberry.com.
    14) Try listening to the sample video and audio.
    15) Checkout the notification bar.
    16) Check the swiping and scrolling of the touchscreen.
    17) Try out the virtual keyboard as well.
    18) Try using the Wifi and 3G connections with surfing.
    19) Checkout the media.
    20) Checkout universal search.
    21) Checkout all the menus.

You will notice that the device is a little heavier than most but extremely well-balanced even when open.

Realize that it is a BB and does not have a warp-speed processor and browser like the i4 and the droids. It does not have "HD like" screen resolutiion like the other devices.

If you like the proprietary communications and multi-tasking platform with an improved browser and it meets your needs, then buy it. Take it home and really give it a good beating for more than a few hours or a week. There are a lot of positives about the device.

Yep, works great with my Company car, a Fusion- even changes music tracks via bluetooth with the steering wheel controls.
