How did you get pattern lock lite working?

It wants me to go to options -> Advanced -> applications and change the permissions on the program but that isn't an option any more.
    Yep, that was OS5 directions.

Go to Options -> Third Party Applications -> PatternLock...........

I experienced the delay after putting in my password too. It sucks. I use it when at work so I don't accidentally dial calls while it's in my pocket.

Just read another thread and someone suggested downloading (free) StormSlider. Works GREAT! no lag time. It's just like the slide unlock that's on the iPhone. I just set my convenience side key to it.

Lag is still pissing me off, from day 1. It is what it is.....not much could make me hate on the phone though. I love it like I loved my 9700.

I'm going to look into the "lockers" that yall have been posting about. I love the passwordlock, I hope an update or the likes just fixes the lag, cause I like keepin my blackberry on lockdown ;-)

Just upgraded to .161 this afternoon and among other improvements, it fixed my lag after password unlock. My BES policy is set for a maximum 15 minute lockout, so it was really aggravating to have to wait 5 or 6 seconds after unlocking. I can now unlock it and begin navigating instantly.

I, too, had the dreaded 6 second delay. I noticed my wife wasn't complaining about the same thing on her phone (she's not running strong encryption). After the second upgrade to .246 (the first one failed), the delay is gone and the transitions are THAT MUCH faster.
    I love this phone.

    Blackberry FOR LIFE!!
... and that's my final answer!
