where do you look and see if an email has been 'read' and can you turn that feature OFF?
I do not like having my messages appear 'received' 'read' etc.
I just found this out.

go to your messages folder --> bb button --> options --> check no for confirm delivery and confirm read and send read receipts

Depends how that other person has their email set up. If they have the things that blueyestm mentions checked, then yes, they will know when you have read the email.

oh , ok.. I'm sorry.. I thought the instructions were for ME to turn them off on my end. I didnt realize if I had them off then they wouldnt permit the other person to see if I had opened/read the email that they sent.

(I'm having major issues with a bad relationship and I'm just trying to make peace. The person keeps telling me ... "I see you read my email, why have you not answered".

I just didnt understand HOW he was seeing that I opened the email.
