If the phone turns on at all or you get it to start and see a "507" screen. It is considered "nuked"(or something happened to your operating system and the phone wont start). Its not hard to recover it from this state, although it does take some time to complete. Follow the link I posted and it will get you back up and running.
i cannot seem to find the desktop manager that works with the torch
on the link you provided it's step three. The options arent available, it just says that the software is not available for my device (i have desktop manager 6).
That is not the DM but the app loader in step 3. Its the basics of loading an OS without using DM. If you have Dm 6 u have the correct one for your device. Reread the directions, if your trying to use desktop manager your not following them correctly.
Can you find the loader.exe file in the location I posted?
If so just double click it and after it reads your device that screen will appear. On a side note, yours will say "Blackberry 6.0 system software", not the 4.2 that is posted in that pic.
did you delete the vendor.xml file in the same folder your currently in? Did the loader recognize your phone when you plugged it in(gave you your pin)?
DM software has nothing to do with what your doing.
thank you. the problem was that i did not delete the vendor.xml fine. i have got past that stage now and it is currently loading. i appreciate the help guys!
No problem man. That's what were here for. I was once just like you, now I give back because someone was kind enough to walk me through my problem as I have done with you.
Hey, i ran into this problem, do you know the work-around? i kept hitting retry but no luck. it says "Application loader was unable to connect to your device, enter password, if required, and click retry
