The illumination light under the back key and power down key is out. Is this common? How to fix this?

ive seen one other post recently regarding this. at first, it would seem like a hardware failure but honestly, you never know. i suggest doing a battery pull first. if that doesnt help, try reloading/updating the OS. if it still doesnt work, i would think its safe to say its a hardware defect.

I did all that. Batt pull n new software att 526, but still no light...

If its hw failure, is it easy to fix?

probably not, as the LED's are usually soldered to the PCB. just call at&t and they will send you a replacement device under warranty or live with it.
