This is the first time I have owned a blackberry and I just took out a contract for the blackberry torch. My contract is 500 minutes, unlimited texts and 500MB and I was wondering will I get charged extra for using BBM? I don't understand it all but I use wifi alot. Please help, thank you.

No. 500 meg is plenty.

BBM uses very little data. I'm a power user and I barely hit 100 meg in a month.

Is this the O2-UK �25 deal by any chance? If so BIS is included in the price, so BBM does not cost any extra.

No it's the vodafone one. So the bbm will come out of my internet (500mb)?

Yes BBM uses your data plan, or wifi if connected to that.

So if I use the bbm with my wifi connection it's free? But if I use it with the data plan it will charge me?

No matter what happens some core BB applications will still use you blackberry data plan even though you're on wifi. BBM is one of those applications. Like others said before it uses very little data so don't worry about it.
