I simply CANNOT open the batter cover. I've been trying to pull it off for the past 10 minutes and it won't come off. I'm pressing down it too and it won't budge. Someone help me!!!

ok step back for a minute..
take a breather... and read the instruction again...
are you pushing on the right direction?.. towards the bottom? and not up?
a light press and push downwards normally do the trick

I have the same issue - no amount of pushing works - instead I push down then get my finger nail in the crack and push it down with my finger nails.

It'll come off, its a pain in the ***, I know, but it comes off.

What helps? Microfiber cloth, or a piece of leather.

I hope when I get my torch its like this. I'm sick of my stupid 9700 battery cover coming off all the time in my pocket. It comes off to easily.

At the risk of getting ridiculed myself, I'll chime in with the OP.

I had a bit of difficulty the first time I tried to open the battery cover. Simply pushing down and back did not budge the cover, but would open the slider. I ended up doing what Melven suggested - push down a bit, then insert a fingernail/thumbnail in the seam at the top to get the leverage to push it the rest of the way open. This works for me every time.

And I agree with others, I would rather have a cover that's a bit more difficult to remove than one that pops off by itself.

The cover comes off without a problem for me. It was getting the battery out that was the difficulty.

The cover was easy on my 9800 also, but the battery was as tight as the gloves that helped aquit O.J Simpson.

Man, this is no joke. I've been trying for twenty minutes to remove the back cover and it's just not coming off.

I'm afraid I'm going to break the damn thing. Either that or I'm going to throw it against a wall.

    Greetings,
Had the same problem. I discovered that it opened easily if i applied the pressure with my thumbs more towards what would be the bottom edge of the cover if the phone was in an upright position.

I feel your pain. Some of these covers are really tight. I know most people here are thinking you're doing it wrong but I know it took me almost 20 minutes also to get mine off. I tried the way the directions stated and even found videos on you tube but it just didn't want to come off.

this way eventually worked for me.

Edit: Just tried his way again and pulled the battery. It only took a couple of seconds. Door popped right off and the battery was simple to remove.

I found I had to press more towards the bottom whereas originally I was pressing above the logo on the back because that's what I was used to on my old phone. I also find it's easier to have the slider open.

The battery door on my Torch comes off with a medium amount of force. But the battery is a task to get out.
