entirely to much. I was in India when it came out and came back to the states mid sept and got it the next day. $199 for it, $18 for activation, and lowered my data from unlimited to 200mb (stupid me, I know). I love the phone but like 1 month later it was on sale everywhere, wal mart had it for $50. I wanted to cry.

When that happens you go back to your ATT store and ask for a rebate. Most times they will give it to you. You may not get the whole discount, but you will save a few bucks.
I paid 260 privately, brand new, unlocked and unbranded.
Currently getting 1000mins, unlim txts, and 750mb data for 25p/m on a 30-day rolling sim-only contract......all good.
Had the Torch only a few weeks and it's so good (on .448 at least) that it's stopping me from using either my 9780 or my Desire HD. So much so that I may get rid of them in fact.
Mine was technically free!
Got a free Bold 9700 through Rogers retentions back in September 2010, then I did a straight trade for a new bold off someone on craigslist about 3 weeks ago! LOL
