i'm not sure how everyone else uses their torch, but i like keeping it in the "all" view, and hiding icons i don't use. i pretty much never use favorites, recent, downloads, etc. but find it pretty annoying that the screen scrolls left or right to these folders from time to time.

anyone know how to get rid of them completely like we were able to with different devices?

    thanks,

I'm with you... it's too busy. However I believe the only way to get rid of it is to use a new theme. I've downloaded ETheme's HTC from the 9800 themes section on CB. It's awesome and really simplified. There's also another one that I saw this morning that upon initial view it's just your wallpaper and the notification banner at the top, but then there's different "hot spots" to get your icons to show.

Oh sorry Auggie created this theme for the storm a long while back called Elle. You can take a peek here http://students.otterbein.edu/Auggie.Fisher/ I've purchased dozens of themes for my Storm 1 and 2, and nothing ever compared, not even a little bit haha If we could get that kind of clean on the torch...

I got it. It's pretty clean and I really like that it gets rid of the pages... It's definitely a different concept than what Auggie was doing with the hotspots and what not. Thanks for the tip

    You are most welcome

The EThemes one, although $0.99, is really great too.

It would be nice if OS6 were updated to give the user a choice between which docks/tabs they want to see. Personally, I hate the different tabs and would prefer to just have 4 user-chosen icons at the bottom.

Ditto that. Just tried the HTC theme, but it takes away too much of the Torch theme's functionality that I'm really comfortable with now. I like the rest of the basic Torch theme, I just want something to get rid of the extra folder screens/tabs/whatever-we-call-them. The search goes on ...

Just found a nice theme that I think I'll keep awhile: Torch Blue with Hidden Today. It's decidedly BlackBerry-ish, but eliminates all the tabs. It loses the ability to change the home screen view via touch screen - it's a bit of a throwback to the Bold, with just a 4-icon dock or the full home screen, which are switchable using the Back and BB keys from one to the other. I kinda like it myself because it avoids inadvertent view changes due to an accidental swipe or screen touch, plus it's the familiar functionality of the Bold.

The theme also has a hidden Today view on the dock, plus what they call a Weather slot, which simply displays whatever app is in the 5th icon spot in the upper right corner of the dock.

I've probably purchased 7 or 8 themes before this and ditched them all after just a few minutes; but this one I think is a keeper.

Also just noticed that only the touch screen works in the Dock view -- track pad does not move anything around or highlight any options. If you're heavily dependent on the track pad, you may find this an issue. But, what it does eliminate is accidentally starting an app by sliding it in your pocket or holster. I call this another benefit.

If you look in the themes section, "curve1967" made a theme in response to a request that I made for a stock OS6 theme minus the tabs, but still maintaining the hotspots and functionality of the stock theme. He/she did a great job.

Very similar, and yes they did a nice job. But the Torch Blue Icon theme has a few nice features that I'd like to hang on to now. Thanks for the info anyway!

Right? I sent the guy an email and made an offer on the source codes, but I'm still waiting for a response.
