Has RIM come out with a top loading belt holster for the 9800 yet? I have always used the RIM cases with good luck.

I looked yesterday and the Torch is not yet on the online OEM store as a device to purchase cases for. I need to replace my 9700 OEM holster soon. It is ok for now.

The OEM 9700 leather holster works perfectly.

I have heard that the case magnets do not line up properly with the device.

I have a case I got at the AT&T store. The magnets all line up. However I find there is one very annoying thing. When you put the Torch into it, it is put into standby mode. As I am removing the Torch it is brought out of standby mode and things get pressed and the pad rubs against the case upon removal. So it opens on random screens.

    This is actually very annoying.

I wish there was a way to prevent it from exiting standby when removing.

    hit the screen lock button.
If you hit the screen lock button (on the top left of the device) it puts it into screen lock/standby mode. When you put it into the holster and then remove it it, the device is taken out of screen lock/standby mode so a lot of things are touched as the device is being removed from the holster.

Only way around this I have found is that if you put a keyboard lock on it and lock it before you put it in the holster.

My bold case works for mine. It is just a tad loose in it but the magnets function and the phone is secure. They had one at the att store that was just like my bold case but didn't see the sense in spending 30.00 for it .

I bought the Otterbox Commuter case for the 9800. I found that with the Otterbox, the 9800 fits perfectly in my 9000's OEM leather belt case that it came with. The magnet puts the phone to sleep like it should.

Hello, I was surprise as well, when one was not included in the package.
I found that my old Curve holster works quite well, and the proximity magnets work perfectly with the Torch.
