I played with my brother's Torch this weekend and discovered that the speakerphone feature on the Torch is no where near as loud as previous models like the 8900 Curve or the 9700 Bold. This was very disappointing as I use it all the time when I'm in my vehicle. Is there any word as to why this is and if there's anything in place to maintain the quality that's standard to all other blackberry phones?
It may just be your torch. I've never used my speakerphone, but I just tried it out while checking my voicemails and it's just as loud, if not louder, then my Curve 8330 was.

Agreed, my torch is just as loud as my old curve 8310. With that being said, the original OS that came on the curve had a way louder speaker then any of the "upgraded" OS's had.
Im kinda hoping for a horizontal slkder for the torch 2 thay would be so effffin awesome with a 8 to 10 megapixel autofocus camera and HD video recording a high display resolution like apples or galaxy s phones a 5 megapixel front facing camere with autofocus also 1 ghz dualcore processor 1 gb of app memory mini usb instead of micro usb a mini hdmi port wifi b/g/n some models should be in 4G built in 16gbs of memory default headphone jack the keyboard has to be spacious and comfortable for the horizontal layout also front facing cam would have flash fingerprint recognition for security and ummm video chat hopefully there would be some adobe flash idk thats all i can think of right now obviously it needs to have a trackpad duhhh and a longgg battery life i think everyone would agree they would like the torch 2 if it had all of this stuff
The 8900 had the best speaker by far. The 9800 pales in comparison. I know many people that have gone from Curve's, and Bolds' to Torch's and they all agree, for some reason they didn't put much effort into the output.
I would like the option to change landscape off, or at least be able to adjust the sensitivity. It's way too sensitive IMO.
I would like the buttons to be separate instead of having that long, one piece button face.
The USB port to be towards the top instead of towards the bottom of the phone.
And of course a sturdier slider mechanism.
I've grown to love this phone, and cannot wait for the next one!
I have to agree there but the Torch has more than adequate sound quality. Sound quality is not exactly a deal-breaker in deciding on the T2. Other technical enhancements would have a higher priority.
