Hi,

When im using google maps after a time the screen blacks out and locks the keypad. Is there a way to stop this as I have to keep waking it up while im driving.

There sure is. Leave It On by ShaoSoft. (Shao is a mod on CB and recently started a free public beta of version 4.0 here: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...op-ups-628041/.) You can customize it to leave the backlight on for any app on your BB, Google Maps, Media Player, etc. As an added bonus, it gives you customizable pop-ups for messages from any app, email, SMS, FB, BBM, etc. Truly one of the most undersung apps for the BB.

There is also another completely free utility called BBLight that you can download to your device directly here: http://www.tateu.net/software/bb.php?f=bblight. It's more basic than Shao's app and essentially just gives you options to leave the backlight on, leave it on when charging (unless the clock is active), etc.

I have downloades it but im too much of a BB amature to know what to do next, sorry!! Now I have the file how does it make its was over to my phone? If I plug my BB in through the USB what folder do I put the file in?

You don't download it to your PC, you download it OTA (over the air) straight to your BB. In other words, point the browser on your BB to this thread and click on the link to download the app right to your device. Note that Leave It On is a beta so it will expire at some point (BB Light is not a beta). You can buy a paid version of Leave It On in App World for $3; BB Light is free.
