My wife is looking at getting a Torch. Does the touchscreen work normally (like on an iPhone or whatever) where touching it counts as a press, or does it do that crazy click thing like the one on the Torch, where you have to push down on the screen to make it count as a press?

Thankfully no. I think that RIM is giving up on the clicking gimmick.

its just a normal touchscreen as you put it. So no clicking like on the Storm.

If it did, I would not have it right now. I hate that SurePress technology.

Drop it face down and it will My slider's a bit loose now so when I push at the bottom of the screen/physical buttons it clicks in a bit. A bit of an annoyance but not too bad.

my friend loves the surepress and she hopes to see it on a future device.

but if you like screens like the iphone or the nokia N8 with capacitive touch then you're in luck with the torch.

If your wife has long nails, resistive might be better but there's a lot of people who would rather jump off a cliff than ever consider it but that's the internet for you.
