I searched and this thread was already active, so I will post here - I have the same issue - the backlight remains on all the time. I have set the timer and auto dim settings, even tried the on and off, however the only way to get the screen to black out is to turn the phone off. Even when it is password locked, the screen is still illuminated brightly. What's going on? Am I just a moron or is there a legitimate issue here? It's killing my battery life.
