Does anyone think if I go ahead and find a leak for 7.1 software for the bb torch 9800 do you think it would massively screw up the phone? if i went and upgraded it? or would it be better to keep it to 6.0?

No, it's not possible to update a OS6 phone to a OS7 software version.

For the reasons already stated, you can look all you want, but no such leak exists for the 9800.

And, I'm sure you are already aware that every OS is made for a specific model phone and one OS made for one model can't be installed on another model. It simply won't bother to install so there is no way to "screw up" the phone.
