I don't have this problem. Is it possible you're running a 3rd party app that is interfering with the camera's normal operation?

I read it might have something to do with apps so I deleted Screen Munch, and it started working again. Not sure if the fact that my phone was restarted was the equivalent of a battery pull, like some people suggested, but removing the app seemed to remedy the situation... knock on wood... haha

What OS do you have on your Torch?

Same problem without much of a resolution...battery pull, update os or return it.
