I have a problem with my phone, when I put the battery in, it goes to a black screen with a battery with a red cross through it, underneath is a progress bar and it stops 3/4 of the way along. I tried to reset the phone using device manager and then again using then loaded.exe thing. None worked.

So I tried testing the battery using a multimeter, it game me around 3.5-3.6. I am pretty sure the battery is full as I left it on charge for 6 hours last night. I tired the battery from my old 8520, I powered it on and It had about 20%, and that read 3.76.

Do you think the battery is faulty, or do you think the phone is bricked?

Just curious; do you regularly top the battery off or run it way down before recharging?

If it is the latter it may be a degraded battery. Ni-cad batteries had a problem where they would develop a "memory" Your battery (Li-Ion) does not have this issue BUT constantly running it down MAY have knocked it's calibration out of whack, preventing it from charging to capacity.
