From some of the other posts I see that some peole are hearing their ATT stores are only going to have a few in. To be safe I reserved one at Best Buy (figuring I could always cancel if need be and I got one from ATT). I just called Best Buy and they said they only had a few pre-orders and had plenty of phones. Im sure most might want to go to ATT but it can't hurt to have Best Buy as a back up plan.

Also being sold at Wal Mart and Radio Shack...Went to Wal Mart to find out price/availability, no one there knew anything...called Radio Shack, they said they have one in stock for $199 contract, $599 no-contract.

Best Buy at 5th Ave and 44th St in Manhattan told me all of the phones that they have received for launch day are already reserved. Also, they are not selling the phone without activation.

i had the unfortunate experience of visiting the Rockefeller Center AT&T store and they basically said the same thing..
For new lines or upgrades only.
even if they have a no commitment price.. they won't sell it.
