    It's used to switch between running apps in background. It is also useful to check if you forgot to close an app in order not to drain your battery.

    The trackpad controls your selection of apps running in the background.

    I think he means is there a way to change what the 2 second press shows?

    If not, well, the menu it displays shows all currently open apps.
