So yesterday I got my brand new torch from telus mobility on a 3 year contract I think. I decided I wanted to unlock it but when I got to the page where I typed in MEPD, it said "NetworkDisabled". This means that its unlocked, right?

Service provider active? That would mean an MEP4 unlock code, if i'm not mistaken.

No. the phone is still locked.
what you want to see is "Service provider disabled"
I have used the service of Unlock Blackberry & Any Cell Phones Remotely by Code | CellUnlock.net
for $10 (if they still offer that - using the BB50 code if i am not mistaken), you can unlock it within hours of payment.

Telus and Bell locks their phones with either MEP2(Network) or MEP4(Service Provider) So, usually if you get unlock codes from most unlockers on here, you will get both MEP2 and MEP4

Ok thanks everyone. So I need the MEP4 code. Can anybody suggest a cheap unlocking service like <$10.

    Thanks so much

I would recommend looking in the unlocking forum http://forums.crackberry.com/f157/ for someone to unlock it.
I used RavingTigers to unlock my Torch (Telus), when they gave away 10 unlocks afew weeks ago. Normal rate is 2.99. I received both the mepd2 and mepd4 codes.
