Both are great devices. It is strictly your personal preference. Do you want a candy bar form or touchscreen slider?
Personally, OS 6 is used more to its potential with the Torch although it has a smaller battery. The Torch, howeever, still has great battery life.
1) Larger screen.
2) Keyboard shortcuts and pinch to zoom, double-tap and swipe in web-browsing and for the most part in messaging.
3) Touchscreen, trackpad and both a physical and virtual keyboard makes multi-tasking, messaging and web-browsing more enjoyable and productive.
Physical keyboard on Torch has flatter key to accomodate the slider and will take some getting used to. It takes time but is well worth it. The Torch has more weight to it but feels more solid.
Go into a store and test both. Whichever one you choose, give it more than a couple of weeks and work it over to decide which one best meets your needs.
