Noob theme design question for more experience builders.....

I see a lot of pro themes and they seem to be about 300k or so.

When I make them in Plazmic 4.5, it seems by the time I'm done, they are 500-550k. I'm using the same wallpaper in all screens within the theme, and using the stock icons. Am I doing something wrong/missing something somewhere?

Is it just a difference between 4.5 themes and 4.2 themes?

Anything I might want to look into?

    Thanks much!

File type makes a big difference. Make sure your screens are sized exactly to fit the screen and save them as .png files.

    Heythere, thanks for the input.

Well, I am running these on an 8830, and the wallpapers I used were the Bold types i found here that were sized to 320x240, 50k, and were png files.

    Does that sound appropriate?

Sounds about right. 320x240 is the Curve screen size, and I'm not sure what the 88xxs use.

Weird, can't quite figure what I'm doing wrong. My themes are 200k larger than commercial themes.

Could be any number of reasons. Complex wallpaper images, multiple backgrounds, larger custom icons, etc.

    That's why I'm perplexed.

I have one background/wpp (43k) and using the stock zen icons from the plazmic sample provided...

I'm sure I am just doing something stupid somewhere...

Hmm, that does seem a little big, but as long as the theme is good, who cares. LOL.

It's an ok theme, nothing special. Basically a rip off of the eveek Zen Precision 9000. But gave up on finding icons like that and went back to the OEM zen fonts.

I'm thinking that the plazmic setup includes a lot of application icons that I don't use really. Shame there's no way to delete those.
