At the risk of sounding stupid, isn't there just someplace I can download the different carrier themes for free rather than mess with the phone's software and risk ruining my $450 phone?

I did as was explained, and lo & behold, unlocked 3 themes...I have t-mobile service which was has a pretty decent theme, but I am now using the Sprint theme...its even better....one thing I didn't see in the original listing was the only way I could get it to update was to install something, so I used a game, and it updated with the themes also....much appreciated.

You can do what I did a few posts up. It's the same as installing a regular theme. Other than that, no you can't download them anywhere.

Ok quick question Ive gone through and removed all of the over stuff and it still wont work. Does anyone with a sprint Curve have the file. Or could they just copy and paste the section that I need.

Dont feel bad i have tried for two weeks to get it working and it cant. Also you have to make sure you have downloaded the OS to the device manager. there is a link on the first couple of pages.

All themes unlocked. Just open Word Pad and from there go to file/open/my computer/ocal disk(c)/program files/common files/research in motion/shared/loader files/8xxx xxxx/blackberry.alx. From there follow previous directions on the first page.

Yes you should if you have upgraded you OS. After altering my .alx file my DM would not auto update it wouldn't even recognize my 8310! I am not sure if that is what is happening to you , but I just unplugged my Curves USB (side connected to computer) and reconnected, and it detected it!

How do you do this, SIMPLY, in Vista? I know nothing about all the programming languages except that they all do something. Where can I find all this in Vista?

    Hi everyone, newbie here

I have an unlocked Pearl 8120 from the Carphone Warehouse that I'm using on T-Mobile UK. I'd really like to unlock the vendor themes, but I think the bit I'm missing is having the OS on my laptop.

According to my BB my OS is 4.3.0.67, but I can't seem to find anywhere to download it. Should I just upgrade my OS, or is this a whole load of hassle? Or does anyone know where I can download it from?

I'm sorry if I've duplicated another post somewhere, but any suggestions would be much appreciated!
    Thanks
