Wouldn't it be nice if closing the flip closed the program? If you don't press end after reading a message or running an app or whatever, and you close the flip, the message or app just keeps running. Kinda sucks no?

Oh no, I disagree. I sometimes have an app open, but I have to go run to take out the garbage or answer the door or even go and have dinner. If I'm in the middle of something, I want to be able to keep my place in what I am doing.
Or, if I'm using a navigation app. I want to be able to look, then close the thing and put it in my pocket, walk, look again if I need to... I don't want to have to have it in my hand open again.
That said, it would be nice to have that functionality as an option one can choose.
I agree with you. I have to take a break in the middle of things sometimes too so I would hate it if closing my phone closed my programs.

Yeah but let's say you read a text and close the phone. Next time you open it to play a game, you have to go back to the home screen. Life can be really difficult sometimes.

I don't think closing the flip should close the app, but watch out with that nav stuff. I figured out that if you just stick the thing in your pocket while GPS tracking, your battery will be done in about 2 hours.
Yeah. It eats it up pretty good. I don't use it for extended periods. I'm generally talking about a few blocks, pedestrian stuff.
Well, since we have heard both sides of the debate, I would say that having this as an option in the "Screen" subsection, would certainly satisfy both sides. Don't you all think?
along these lines...if i am on the phone, and want it to go on speaker but then also close the flip portion so i can carry around the phone easier, it hangs up every time. anyone know any way around this? or will it always hang up on someone when you shut the flip portion?
The only time closing the flip doesn't hang up the call is if you have a headset plugged in. I haven't tried it with blutooth.
thx for the heads up
It doesn't shut off Bluetooth, either. I use it this way all the time.

ahhh ok good. at least i can do this with bluetooth then. but if on speaker, i will just have to suck it up and keep it open
I think the only other way to get around it would be to go into your device options and change the flip behavior to never answer or hang up upon opening or closing the phone (which kind of defeats the purpose of a flip phone for me ;)). I haven't tried this btw - jst assuming it would work.
