Okay so Im taking some serious flack for my Icons being all werd 1980ish From my wife of course who has an Iphone and can't hold a voice call for her life (Sorry AT&T guys).. So the question is. What theme can I get that would be ohhs and ahs. And obviously preferrably a free one

try the storm 2 themes forum. Lots of good free and premium themes. I like natemz work but always end up going back to elle knockoff. But anyways I'm sure you'll find what you need there.
