$50 for 550 mins Loyalty Family Plan (15% Discount) = $42.50 (I'm not even a year into my contract and I got this. This is only for those who has been with VZ for a while and their contract is ending soon or is month to month)
    $29.99 for BIS Unlimited (20% Discount) = $23.99
    $9.99 for second line
$20 for text message (unlimited in-network, 500 out of network)

After tax, regulations, I pay $113. My previous plan costed me $106 and I had the following:

    $99.99 for 700 mins Family Select Plan (15% Discount) = $85

So I lowered my mins (we barely used 150 mins a month), got BIS, still get unlimited txt messages (we dont even text out of network and if we do, its not 500 txt msg worth) and only pay $7 more for BIS

    Everyone do yourself a favor,

If you are on the VZW Family share plan, most of you will be on a BASIC Plan. VZW has a SELECT Plan which the do not market. Log onto VZW.com and go into your account.

The Select Plan offers unlimited Text & Pix messaging and the cost is less then 1500 Msg Plan. Not to mention the Select Plan offers 2 lines as part of the base package.

I upgraded and I'm saving about $20.00 month!!!

    My Plan;

    $90.00 - 700 Anytime (for 2 lines), Unlimited Text/Pix (for 2 lines).

    $29.99 - BB Data (Unlimited)

    $5.99 - TEC Insurance

Originally, I had the $40 calling plan (450 min) plus $20 messaging (Unlimited Text/Pix Messaging) and was going to add on the $30 BlackBerry Data plan. I also have a work discount (23%) but unfortunately that only applies to the $40 calling plan, totalling about $80.80 before taxes. Eventually, I decided to get the $99.99 BlackBerry Plan that includes the 450 min, unlimited txt/pix, and unlimited email and data because now the corporate discount applies to the whole plan, for about $77.00 per month before taxes.... so, before taxes, I save about $3.20, plus my bill looks much cleaner and is easier to read.

By far this guy was the closest person to answer the question. The base talking plan is 39.99/month for 450 anytime minutes, unlim IN calling, unlim N&W. The blackberry plan is 29.99/month for unlimited data. If you want a txt plan they start at $10 for the unlim IN txt with 500 out of network. $15 is 1500 out of network with IN, $20 is 5000 out of network with IN. I would never do the $20 pack unless on a family plan though. I would just do the Select plan which would be $59.99/month for the 450 minutes, IN, N&W, Unlim TXT to anyone!!

    My 2 cents.

I revived this week-old thread to ask a question about VZW plans at Best Buy. My question (post #45) is quickly drifting away. I sometimes only read the first few and last few posts in a 4+ page thread. Since others may do the same, my question may go unnoticed. Rather than start a new thread, I'm hoping some knowledgable soul can read post #45 on the bottom of page 3 and let me know if you have any insight. Thanks.

That doesn't get you any BlackBerry data usage tho... add $30 to that and now you can have a storm. (ex-VZW CSR and RSR)

Plan question, when purchasing a Storm at Best Buy:

In early December I got a Storm through Verizon online, using NE2. I'm on a family plan...the Storm was an upgrade for the primary line. During the checkout process, I was not required to change to a Nationwide plan...I had to make a new 2 year committment but I was able to stay on my older America's Choice plan. Naturally, I had to select a data package. I eventually returned my Storm because of my frustration with its glitches. My NE2 was restored; my contract was reset to month to month.

Fast forward to today: I will eventually get another Storm (soon because I see many of the glitches have been fixed). I have a few Best Buy gift cards to burn so buying there would be a good move for me. Does anyone know if I buy there, will I be able to simply extend my America's Choice plan another two years (like I did with VZW), or will Best Buy's system force a Nationwide Plan.

For the neysayers who will suggest that a Nationwide plan is required for the Storm regardless of where you buy it, this is incorrect. I--and many other AC VZW customers--were able to stay on our AC plans. It's my understanding that only new customers that must select a Nationwide plan (or current customers who add the Storm as a new/additional line of service).

    Any insight would be appreciated.

I THINK you'll be able to keep your current plan, but I'm not sure. Unfortunately, when I worked for VZW I worked at a retail store and never really paid attention to how the process worked at BB, CC, or the like. Best to just call a BB and ask... sorry I couldn't be more help.

I upgraded from my old plan so I still have the 700 min and unlimited text/flix/pix family plan for $100 and $30 a piece for the bb plan plus one other line and a nice discount from work. 3 lines for under $200. Make sure insurance is added cause the storm, or any other phone for that matter, would cost an arm and a leg at retail.

Depends on the BB data plan you got. There's a difference between personal and business use plans. If you have the plan that you can port business email, then you would be paying more.

Yes. You can keep your plan. The problem is your going to have to call support, and keep calling till you get someone who is knowledgeable and get it activated that way. It took me 5 calls to get my storm activated with my old plan (Unlimited local and NW long distance). Best Buy and the Verizon stores will tell you its impossible and say you have to be on nation wide. So make sure you call.
