Mine freezes for a few seconds anytime I hit the Sym key but then it comes back.
Nope runs as fast and smooth as ever.. no lagg or locking up.
You can probably mark "no" then. There have been a few different threads on the issue I'm having and the phone completely locks up. We have to do a battery pull in order to fix it.

sometimes randomly while not typing as well... this is getting frustrating...
I went last night and ordered a new one..mine has been freezing on every 5.0 OS..my wifes works fine though..just must be some phones..this will be my first replacement storm though since jan. Not bad

Yes, this problem happens only on SMS messages (I haven't tried MMS though) and has happened at 100 characters and 120 characters.
I installed 5.0 after a wipe. I have to do a battery pull to be able to do anything after it freezes.
Mine used to befire the new OS came out, more often than not, the key would stay lit up and I would get the black square in the middle, then the letter I had hit would show up after a few seconds.
Mine has. I have only heard of one other person having this same issue as me after my repeated posts asking others. its gotten better with each build. But still not gone. So yes is my answer.
No my Storm does not freeze I do get the watch timer but it goes way if I continue typing.
However I have experienced other issues like memory management is no where near as good as the 151 OS.

Freezes all the time, this is last time I am doing a full wipe and re-installing only contacts and e-mails no 3rd party apps. I still think this has nothing to do with it as everything was running fine on 148 & 167. I think its a hardware issue myself. Either way RIM + Carriers are going to have allot of problems when they roll everyone else over to this 5.0

Yes, mine locks up on SMS and in BBM. Doesn't matter what the character count is.
Worked fine before upgrade.
What should I do? Constant battery pulls after lockups are frustrating.

Has anyone contacted verizon or their carrier support about this issue?
If your phone locks up, what 3rd party apps do you have? Maybe we can find something you all have in common.

not running any themes at all. i had the same issue with every hybrid and leak in the 5.0.. but this one i am able to type a little more with before i have to pull the battery
froze two more times....just like when i froze with clock....bummer man...maybe if we turn off threaded sms???
i turned off flip clock and that fixed my problem w freezing clock...
