So, i'm not sure about everyone else...but i'm not in a position to receive my NE2 discount and my annual upgrade is not until February 2010. I haven't even bothered to make an attempt at having them move up my annual (i know they wont, i left then in November of 08 for the iPhone and came back b/c AT&T blows...).

I had the Storm 1 but it just wasn't up to snuff for me. Gave that up for an 8330 and purchased the Tour @ full retail when it dropped. Been happy with it since, but the geek in my is craving for some touch screen action.

I'm not 100% yet but i'm ~80% sure i will be picking one up tomorrow morning....at the lovely retail price of over $500.00! I will make my final determination once i get to play with a floor model.

So what say you? Anyone else as fiscally irresponsible as me?

If you have the money, go for it.

You can probably also sell your old one on Ebay or Craigslist to make up some of the cost.

i don't want to pay full retail but it seems like the only option i got or wait untill 11-22 to get a S2 at 1yr. price. i'm going to try and call veriozn to see if they can move me up early.

either way i will probably get it even at retail price. the main complaint i have with the S1 if the app memory and lag. No matter what i do it always seem to affect the phone's perfomance,

Thanks for your input! However, that's less than many people spend every month on cigarettes and beer. Fortunately, we live in a society where we're allowed to make as much money as we can and spend it as we like. God Bless America!!

See, I can charge $500 to my acct...

So I was thinking I would charge half to the account, half cash, then pay the rest off next month...after I sell my S1

If you ditched the Storm1 you'll probably be wasting your coin on the 2. It'll be better but it's basically the same can of worms with some spunkier worms in it.

I know I can charge anything to my account, I would see it being a simple split payment in the computer system

I would but I'm really trying not too. Looks like I see if they will let me upgrade or add a line. If not then just may have to fork over the $...

do you people realize the storm 2 probably only costs verizon how much they are selling it for for the rebated, discounted price which is $180? if you pay full price verizon is making a KILLING off you. insanity...

If you are on a family plan and a family member can upgrade, you can use their upgrade. Vzw will do all the fan-angling. You dont even have to do the swap yourself.

Otherwise, add a line. I think with taxes, an additional line is like $12/month or $288 for 2 years. Think of it as free financing.

If you look at Verizon rate plans compared with Sprint, Verizon makes a killing there, too.
