Call Verizon, ask for blackberry global support, tell them you need the the unlock code to use a european sim, they will give it to you, leave the verizon sim in
Turn on the phone and go to Settings Menu, Options, Advanced Options and then SIM Card. Type in MEPD using the keyboard. Type in MEP and then another screen pops up for the code, put the code in, you have 10 chances to get it right, dont screw it up press enter and the phone should now be unlocked. Pop att sim in and manage connections to gsm and there you go, I did a test call and it works great, check my voice mail and after I was done I got the prepaid prompt with my current balance from att
hmmmmmmmmmm
i just called verizon's global support for blackberry and told them that i will be going to europe for vacation next week and that i would like to use a european sim card while there. They told me that there is nothing they can do and that they cannot give out the unlock code at this time.
edge is in lowercase letters, that means you shouldnt be receiving any data. how are you getting emails? i guess those could be text messages up there. the phone wouldnt be any good if you couldnt use it for data as well. on the edge not EDGE you'd be able to place calls, but you'd never get any email, or be able to access internet.
ok, i just saw another one of your screenshots. so is the option to turn data on while roaming on? and if so, i wonder if you would be charged roaming data for that. if there is such a thing i guess.
dude if this is true im going to buy it at my local store cause they still got 8 in stock and if this can't be done imma be pissed. i have t-mobile so it should be the same. please tell you your for real.
like i said before, on the features it says ameirca GSM. i mean i thought it would work and someone was bound to try it. Either he just put it in the sim and cant do anything or it really works. someone try and put it a sim card without it unlocked and see what happens.
yeah i would say a battery pull but if the service books from verizon wont work on the att network then maybe no hope? there has to be a way though since they look at it from the business perspective.
