will storm last 2 years?

- Well I've had mine for 4 months and I'm still on my first one thats running great on .75. I have no scratches, no dust, no harm to my screen either. The phone can last as long as you want it to. Its not gonna just die unless you kill it.05-13-09 12:27 PMLike 0

Others have bad batteries, or have truly legitimate hardware issues (blown screens, bad dust seal, etc...tho that last one is iffy as I've never had a piece of portable electronics that didnt get dust in it at some point in its life; ds, psp, every other phone ive had)... but from the looks of things around here, they are in the minority. It looks more like any time a person's storm slows down in any way, they trade it in
It would be interesting to see how many people actually had bad hardware leading to a replacement and how many people just wanted a new one. Or thought that a new phone might fix bugs in the OSLast edited by kinggeoff; 05-13-09 at 12:32 PM.
05-13-09 12:27 PMLike 0 - If you're going by CB only, this place is a n00b festival. Many of those people are return-happy, have no idea what they're talking about and trade the storm in because of software issues... thinking a new unit might fix it.

- myscreen has completely stopped working before on my second storm. The VZW rep said the button the screen floats on just wore out. That was only after 3 months

I had just finished jogging and my hands were sweaty, the phone was in holster, and it just slipped. Just a few scratches. After that I didn't care about it too much. it's not worth it. I like the Storm, but not that much. Also the screen is just too dust-lover and I cannot understand that. I just hope it will last until Storm2 is out.05-13-09 02:47 PMLike 0

No, it doesn't sound like you're taking care of your phone. Prior to Jan, I had an LG Flip phone for 3 years as well (in my pocket). It had probably 1 or 2 scratches on it (on the back) and that's it. If yours had Tape holding the battery together, and the charger wouldn't work right.....then something is seriously wrong with how you take care of your electronic devices. Not trying to be mean, just my 2 cents.
Best of luck with your Storm...and future Storm replacements you'll undoubtedly have.05-13-09 03:56 PMLike 0 - I think it will just make care of it.. I'm extremely ocd when I comes to my expensive electronics.. My vaio laptop I just bought is all white. Before I even move it I wash my hands like I'm about to do open heart surgery.
My mom has had her lg flip phone for like 6 years now an it still woks lol.. Hopefully the storm will make it at least 2 years.

I'm hoping for something that will offer good protection from bumps and knocks but isn't too big to fit in my pocket. It seems like the silicone ones are the right size, but don't offer good protection where as the hard plastic ones are safe, but clunky.
...also I would like to walk on water and know what tomorrow's winning lotto numbers are05-13-09 04:05 PMLike 0 -
- Ricky, everyone seems to like the incipio feather, very light and thin. I'm going to get one in addition to my invisible shield someday.
So far I really like my invisible shield. Offers nearly full coverage accept the corners and really is scratch proof. I'd say get a true hard case if ur worried about dropping it
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com05-13-09 04:11 PMLike 0 - Thanks Moose. I'm not so worried about dropping it as I tend to toss it into my soccer bag at games and such and would like a bit more scratch-prevention than just the screen protector. I'll look into that.05-13-09 04:16 PMLike 0
- So far I have had the Storm for 6 months. It still looks like new given the type of work I do and have the phone with me most of the time. I have a hard case VZW gave me and is working well. My Palm that I had at this point had a few scratches on it. As long as I am concerned, the Storm will last 2 years.05-13-09 04:18 PMLike 0
