The radio department in the 9630 is filled to busting -- or slowly warming your face -- with CDMA, EV-DO Rev.A, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, and UMTS, with the GSM flavors getting the quad-band treatment. The rumored OS at launch is 4.7.1, though if delayed enough, it could pull through with OS 5.0.
My question is, will we be able to upgrade to 5.0?
5.0 will come out for all devices eventually (or different flavors of it will). 5.0 exists for many of the devices already, just VERY few people have access to it.

Agreed... Development wise, they will stick to 4.7.1 I am going to guess at this point. To much of a risk to push 5.0 out before its quite a bit more ironed out.
But the 9630 will no doubt get the 5 upgrade down the line, as well as the rest of the 9X and most 8X series.
So is this 5.0 OS, specifically for the Storm, going to be a complete revamp of the current 4.7 OS? Or is this going to be another OS that is just tweaked to work for the Storm like 4.7? I'm assuming since everybody is buzzing about 5.0 that it is more of an independent OS for the Storm.. does anyone know? Thanks
EDIT:: I just read another thread about 5.0 and found out the answer to my question! Sorry.. please ignore my initial post!

I'd love to hear the answer to the first part. Radio?
As for the second. 5.0 not be only for the Storm.
