I would, but the Storm 2 is going to cost as much as my rent at full retail. What's really sad is on the 28th I will be at my 31 day mark on the return policy. The rep i spoke to last night told me to turn in my Storm 1 and just wait a day and upgrade. i don't know if that's cheating the system or not, but that's what she told me do.

Sounds right that should work just fine
There will be a 35$ restocking fee however.

You would be crazy not to do that. The 30 days is there for you to try before you buy. Verizon sells that point almost endlessly. Pay $35 to save $200? Sounds pretty economical to me!
Honestly, I think $500 is a bit much for Wifi, 128 mb more memory, and a nicer touchscreen.
The locked in S1 owners will hopefully have an official 5.0 before the year is over (as long as the six month update holds true) and I think that will be more than enough until our contracts are up.
It's almost worth it to open another line and cancel it on the 31st day. $179 for phone and $167 ETF (23 months left on a 24 month contract) so you can keep the phone. Then transfer the new line to your old number once cancelled. Then you get the phone with no contract for $346. Still a little pricey, but if you want one that bad it's better than paying full retail.
$540 for a a phone that we HOPE is going to be a good version of an old one, one that was one of the biggest flops of RIM's history? I definitely will be on the "not" list.
I am thinking about this phone. I just got tour through the bogo from vzw about 2 months ago with the wife. But if I do get it I will wait about a month after release to see how the hardware and software do. I don't want to run into problems like what happened to the tour. By then ebay will be flooded with em and hope the price is around what the tours are at now.

since its not official, i'm gonna hope that it comes down to 199 before online discount with 2yr agreement because i cannot afford 130 right now, which is what i'd have to pay with my NE2 upgrade. and i cant take advantage of BOGO because i wouldn't have anyone else to give the phone to since you have to activate both of them.
I have a curve and storm right now. i'm going to sell my storm that i upgraded to in June and use two of my upgrades and get two Storm 2's. One for me one for my roommate who i sold a storm in September.
I will be getting 2 (the other is for my wife) opening day. I like the Storm. Got the first Storm 1's the day they were released so it is a tradition. Probably won't get any type of break since it will be less then a year but .... oh well.
Just talked to a VZW rep and I will be eligible for the 1 year upgrade on NOV. 22nd. That's when ill be getting mine. Don't think I would give up the original Storm for full retail on a newer Storm with a better screen.

i dont understand what the big deal is i talking to a online rep about upgrading a new phone without an upgrade and all u gotta do is pay the contract price which will probably be 199-299 with a 2 year
