Whats the point of actually paying $499 for the Blackberry Storm upfront at the store? I realize you can unlock your phone and switch carriers, yada, yada, yada, but it seems that no matter what you do, you still have to pay about $70 a month minimum to play with this toy.

So why not just ride out the 2 year contract and get the phone for $199 because Verizon doesn't seem to have a "if you own it outright rate plan" that would save you any money.

there are people who just got a curve last year, and dont want to wait a whole year before they are able to get the storm so they purchase it outright!
