Sorry, dumb question... but to be fair, I am a newbie at the BB game.

My question surrounds the inquiry as to whether or not it is considered harmful to store a backup file (done w/ the BB desktop manager) on the memory card in the device.

I noticed it is stored in a format unrecognizable to the BB, but I don't want to put anything on there that could harm the device itself.

Opinions? Rants? Ripping in to me due to this being a suprsingly simple yes or no issue?

If it makes a difference, it's a BB Storm

No it shouldn't be harmful, it should be fine, but why do you want to put it on there?

I keep a copy of my BlackBerry backup file on my Media Card, just so it's always with my BlackBerry. I can copy it to any PC, install DM, and perform a recovery if I have to. You can't restore from the Media Card, but you can use it like a USB disk.
