I have one issue. I live in far Azerbaijan, and using Curve 8310 from Vodafone. Once saw Storm and want to be its happy owner. But the matter is that we don't have any regional BB representative here and I will order it from US and probably from Verizon. Will it work here with a different provider or I will be have to unlock it? In case of unlocking the device can I make it myself?
Well the storm in the us (not sure of the exact model #) is a gsm world, so it should work on Vodafone. You would have to unlock it, but I believe you can find a reasonably priced unlocking service on the internet.

i am IT manager and very familiar with software updating and etc.
the reason i'm asking about unlock it myself is that if there is nothing else necessary except usb cable, software, brains and patched hands then maybe i could do it at home?
Yeah you don't need anything special to unlock phones. There are many tutorials around cb for unlocking the storm. They may not be for the specific carrier you wish to use it with, but they may be a good guide for you to follow when unlocking it. I'll get you a link to one.
