i don't think the backup was the issue. i think it's the restore that causes the problem.

seems to be random. but my OS update was done on a different computer than i normally use, and i lost some stuff as part of the restore, like theme settings, etc...so i sort of came out on top, accidentally.

I just heard from vzw tech that .148 has failed. And he says vzw is getting annoyed with rim because they get the OS to play nice on cdma network. He says vzw problem that att had with the bold.

if this were the case, it wouldn't have gotten out of network certification. this is the first i've heard of it...and testing ends today, idk how they have a result already. maybe the person who you spoke with personally failed it, but there are quite a few people who test and have feedback into the success of an OS. we'll see eventually.

and if/when its approved, (testing ends today, they should know tomorrow at soonest) then it usually takes about 48 hours, i'm hoping we get it monday or early next week.

I an using .132. If 0148 does become official by VZ, will I have to down grade back to .75 to successfully complete the new OTA update, or does it not matter?

nope, you'll be able to upgrade to .148 as long as you're on a lower build...

no offense friend Patches but you yourself have said that you do not work for VZW. I would consider someone in the KNOW to have VZW on the nameplate to their office or better still to have RIM on their nameplate.
