This CD was packaged with my Storm. Are any programs on it that I need? I presumed that all I needed was the Blackberry Software CD, or do I need both?

Tether = use as a modem. Like a wireless card.

You need it if you want to tether the device.

Is that the only use of it? The CD says to install a USB driver first before connecting the Storm to the computer the first time. Is the driver only for tethering then?

When you load the CD it should show you what options are available on it. I can't remember if the BB Desktop Manager CD had the device drivers on it or not. If not the VZAM CD should have it. The most important part is making sure you have those drivers installed before taking any other steps to avoid errors.

Shouldn't matter as they are for two different purposes.

I wouldn't load the VZ Access CD unless you plan on tethering....you don't have any use for it if not.
