My volume rocker on my storm wont control the volume for some reason, it just appears to be inactive, and in the settings i see the options for the other two button but not the volume profile one!

Are you using it during a phone call or listening to music/watching video's? It only works when you are using an application that has volume. In other words, you cant adjust the volume from the home screen.

the volume buttons are only for in application settings - for call volume and such, you have to use the volume key at the top left of the screen.
