Was my question, DO you have to wait for it?
ATT speed are only upping to "double" what VZW is now until this network is upped too. Once the speeds were announced, ATT reported speeds capable of up to 7.2Mbps, whereas VZW reported speeds from 8-12Mbps. Another thing you have to look at is the devices in question. No carrier has a device capable of these speeds yet.... Just cuz they SAY they are the first, or the fastest, wouldn't you have to actually the devices go that speed to really believe it anyhow? Remember... all carriers are investing into 4G, LTE, whatever they want to call it. The only carriers running half the speed of the rest next year are the few that are NOT moving to the next generation of data throughput speeds.
Silverlight, you say Verizon isn't as fast, but then you refer to a technology jump that doesn't exist yet? I am wondering if maybe VZW isn't the ones droning their consumers?!?
uhhh... you ARE aware you are not actually changing browsers right? All the phone is doing is changing it's browser identifier for any web page it is browsing on... Helps the page know how to display to best meet the needs/capabilities of the device. man I hope you don't explain it like that to our customers?
Opera mini. Download it. I never use the default browser anymore

Yea...its the same browser lol

It is the blackberry browser that is extemely slow. Try Opera or Bolt. Some people say bolt is faster, while others say Opera is. For me, pages load quicker with Opera.
Damn.. you beat me to it.
How can this be a valid test of speed of a browser when not all three phones had full bars. Did anyone notice how the storm only had 2/3 bars and the other two phones both had full bars. So i cant see how you can judge anything by this video.
Yeah, all this video is really proving is that the spot hes in isn't very good for Verizon service. Although, most of the time I'm at about 3 bars too unless I happen to be close to one of the towers, so maybe that was part of his point.
Ah in case you DON'T KNOW the browser Is the same those are emulation settings
Those are NOT separate browsers
Who do you work for?

My browser is way faster than the one in that video. In fact I have a ipod touch running on wifi and my storm is quicker than it and I'm usually only running on two bars with the storm. Must be the area that the test was taken place.
My browser is fast on mobe sites but when it comes to going on regular sites it sucks.

Just like everyone is saying, the blackberry browser is slow to load non-mobile based sites. Use opera, would have smoked the competition.
No this is incorrect. Technically, AT&T's 3G is faster than Verizon's EVDO Rev.A which is maxed out at 3.1/3.2Mbps. Whereas AT&T maxes out at 3.6 right now. When AT&T upgrades(in the process) to HSUPA, speeds will be around 7.2Mbps. This roll out will happen before Verizon rolls out LTE in limited markets. This is the 8-12Mbps you speak of. Verizon must roll out LTE because their current EVDO network is maxed out.
Verizon will definitely have the jump on the other networks in the states, as they will have LTE rolled out first. Big plus for Big Red.
I just wanted to get the speeds clairified.
That test is done where Verizon has the weakest signal. Only has 2 bars I think is what I saw. That's also very likely the older version of the storm. My storm blows away the browser on my friends iPhone.
Opera is not designed for the Storm. It's very hard to click. So I'm stuck on the default browser for now.
Notice the difference between downloading apps (REALLY fast!) and loading webpages (data gets caught on certain KB's)...and big sites like Wikipedia are a joke. The page has loaded but waiting for the stupid browser to get things going takes FOREVER.
I tried that website on my storm just now (pocketnow.com) and I also had full service where I live and the storm on that video shown here is much faster then my browser on my phone! That website on that storm loaded up a lot faster then mine.
Go with T-Mobile and you'll think Verizon's speed is some sort of freak of nature it's so fast. Welcome to the 90a Catherine Zeta Jones!

Hey has anyone told that vz joker the browser doesn't actually... Oh
lol

im at home, and just did it at the same time with my storm that is running .148 (most up to date release) and I have 3/5 bars of signal strength. AT&T and Sprint in that vid both have 5 bars. Still beat them. I've had AT&T before without a data plan. With AT&T my own house was a dead zone, but with Verizon, I'm rarely able to find dead zones. Verizon vs AT&T with daily use is the difference between night and day.
what did you do different to your storm to get that site to load up faster then iphone and palm pre? I tried loading that same page up with my storm with 5 bars full coverage outside and still couldnt get near as fast as the iphone or pre
I loaded the same website and hit go at the same time as he did. The storm in the vid beat me out with my -80 DB of signal. However same test with opera mini and that was done 3 seconds before the iphone.
probably loaded it, then reloaded it without clearing the cache.
Verizon will have 4G shortly.
Not really. In less than 10 markets in 2010, and not completely nationwide until 2014 at the earliest.
