hey guys! pardon me if im being dense, but what exactly is a Hybrid os? I have recently upgraded to 132 and am much happier, but i wanted to try the .141... what is the difference between .141 and .141/5.0.0.93 Hybrid. Im guessing in the hybrid, i can pick and choose what options i want, but i dont know which version of what i need... please help.

btw are there some kind of release notes that go over the changes from one version to the other?

The hybrid is a combination of different elements (like the radio for you phone's reception) from different OS's (usually determined to be the best element of the OS releases). It's like the best of all the OS's combined into one, though it's usually comprised of maybe 2 to 4 OS's.

I am using .132 and let me tell you, it is far better than .75. I was apprehensive at first, but the upgrade went smoothly. Just followed the instructions on CB. You might think .75 is "just fine," but once you go to a leaked OS, you'll ask yourself why you waited so long.

Ive tried a few of the leaked OS and so far for me .141 has been the best. Havent tried any of the Hybrids yet though. Not sure if I will because .141 has been great.

I'm running lyricidals .141/5.0 with a slight modification. Added in all .109 files from crackmans V5 besides all the phone .cods and have had great success!

.132 for right now. Have been tossing around the idea of doing a hybrid. I was on .75 from sometime mid-March when I got the phone and just upgraded last Thursday. wow, what a complete different phone. I love it!

It has been very stable, good radio and pretty fast browser action. The lock bug in .141 as well as gps mem leaks and variable loudness with Bluetooth are all dealbreakers

I will have to say after running all these beta os's (or whatever one want's to call them) the only radio so far that I can remember worked good was .90 but it would start to reboot the phone after 3+days on the phone.
All the newer ones (as far as I can remember all give me problems!) either reboot, network (internet), DROPPED CALLS!! (this one is the killer for me), besides the other problems this thing has !!
I am going to go back to .65 and .75 and see how it goes with these 3 problems that are killing me! So hopefully this POS phone starts to work properly with one of these or something!
So far for me every time I load an OS it work's good for 3-4 days then kaput!!!
Well I loaded up .65 today then had to load .75 on top due to some apps not working at all and the big shocker to me was that out of all the betas I used and thought (as you all do) that each beta was getting better, faster, and more reliable than the last---- it was all BS they are actually worse = color banding, rebooting, dropped calls, internet with some apps stopped working over time, etc.... Like I stated on my last post "every time I load an OS it work's good for 3-4 days then kaput!"

Maybe what we just need is a memory cleaner for .75 and all will be well!
I know I am not at my 3-4 days yet but today like every other OS (with the exception to .90, supper fast but way too many reboots after the 3 days on) my network is pretty fast, I HAVE MY CALL LOG BACK (huge thing to me) with the left button, no color banding, and will see how everything else goes in 3+ days. The only thing I miss is the full keyboard in portrait.

So the only thing I can find different than all of the beta OS's I used (I did use all of them) is I wasted a lot of time (a really lot) as of day 1 with .75 back on!!!

So now I am off to find a great memory cleaner (I think there is one in the app store, $10 but if it does work that is cheaper than the time wasted with these betas) then again I sure did learn a lot -- how to wipe, recover from bricking, etc...

Im still running .75 and the phone is pretty much running fine. Never have random rebooting or freeze-ups. Only issues I have are the huge camera lag issues ( the camera sucks big time), trying to answer the phone when the screen flip flops between portrait/landscape, and slight portrait/landscape lag issues.

I am using lyric's latest hybrid, and I use mine for business 95%. I regret leaving a hard keyboard for the touch screen. It is something that will probably drive me to the Tour/9630 when released. Additionally, the battery on the Storm will never be equal. My 8830 would go for days with no drain. The Storm while better with leaks, still is sub-par.

Overall I like it enough to keep it for awhile, and if I was a home only user, I would love it. I get 100+ emails a day requiring a lot of responses. The screen keyboard just wears me out, although I have gotten a lot faster. That is the main reason 0.75 lasted only a day with me. The newer releases/hybrid's are much better for typing. Lyric's has worked the best for me to date.

A quick fix for that would be using Storm Rotation Wizard and locking your homescreen in either portrait or landscape (I lock my homescreen, calendar, browser, and messages (email, text, mms) all in portrait because thats simply how I prefer to use the phone; I've owned 2 landscape phones so I didn't care to use landscape on this phone). Or, you can also just answer the phone with your hard answer key, instead of the on-screen one. That eliminates the issue of waiting as well.
