Maybe im dumb and didnt hear this, but i own 17 lines at verizon through my business, Back on Nov 21st when the storm came out i purchased 4. I went to get another one yesterday, and they said im entitled to 4 free ones because of the BOGO deal that is going on now for Verizon. So i went in thinking to spend $199 for one upgrade but i walked out with 4 free ones.

Maybe this is old news but, i didnt know, so maybe others dont know.

Explain this "BOGO" deal. Is it for phones or lines? Heck...what is it?

Buy one get one free. If you have a everytwo year upgrade available, or you starting service. You do have to add service to the free one or apply it to another line on your account. I had 10 available upgrades on my account so the verizon rep put the 4 retroactive free ones on 4 of 10 available upgrades, then she deactivated them and put the old phones back on the account (she had to do it that way) so i walked out with 4 deactive STORMS, went home and put one of the free ones active on my wifes personal account. WOOO WHOO, got a storm for my wife for free !!!

Ive read that its only retroactive if you bought your phone at a corporate store. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Yeah i would think, i wouldnt think to verizon rep would do it illegally, if you have another phone on your account that is available for upgrade you should be able to apply the free one to that. I bought my 4 storms in Nov '08 and she even applied the those storms to Lines that werent available for upgrade until this past January.

Im just giving you guys info on what happened to me, i was at a corporate verizon store in my town. Not just some cheap authorized dealer. So i would assume it was legit.

Orginally i bought the storms in NOV at verizon store in a circuit city (are those corporate), so now that it is closed, i went to the corporate store in my town to get my free ones.

Hmmm. If this is accurate, you can use it on an existing line? You don't have to add a new one? My dad may be interested, but I don't know if he's eligible for an upgrade. It doesn't seem like you should have to be if you don't need to add a new line either.

Ok, so I looked it up and it says you need to activate for two years of service + data on an added line to get the deal. So did you resign for two years on all four of those lines?

Well you can get 75 that way but for 99 you'll need to hit up the beta OS forum.

yeah, i do have to wait for two years now on those four lines, (which i have so many that are cycling, it does matter to me) Also she added data lines for two secs to activate them, but when she deactived the storms and put the old phones back on the lines, she took off the data line, and i didnt have to pay for the data lines for the two secs that were put on them. She should be proof that i did not pay for the data lines for that split sec they were activated.

Hmm, but she didn't make you add any lines at all? Just resign on your existing ones? Sounds like you found a particularly friendly rep! Maybe because of how many lines you have. We have 6 or 7 lines with Verizon, part of which is a family plan, and we've been with them for 8 years but I don't know if we can swing this. lol.

No added lines, just resigned on four available upgrade lines.

The store manager was there looking over it all and there was no problems.

The way may account was set up with the timing of my available upgrades on those lines, made it a "Perfect Storm" (no pun intended ) for getting those 4 free storms

my sister works as an executive vp of customer service at a call center and she just told me that the BOGO only works if you add a line or have a curren tline that can upgrade. i got my storm by adding a line in jan and im elegible for another phone with the BOGO deal becuase they are indeed backdating (which she also said verizon NEVER does and is very rare). But i cant get my BOGO phone becuase i dont have a second elegible line that can upgrade so i miss out on the deal even though i could have cashed in on it
